Missouri Bootheel Waterfowl Hunting... Historical Marker in New Madrid, MO

We are located in the agriculturally rich, centrally located Bootheel of Southeast Missouri. We hunt flooded grain fields and sloughs in the Mississippi River Bottoms. Our property is situated within miles of four major waterfowl refuges. Approximately 5 miles to the north is Ten Mile Pond WMA, 5 miles to the east is Reelfoot Lake NWR. Mingo NWR and Otter Slough WMA are both within 30 miles.

The Upper Mississippi Delta has historically been the northern most point of the Mallard wintering grounds on the Mississippi Flyway. Recent changes in weather patterns and increased rice production have noticeably changed migration patterns and resulted in our region becoming the “heart” of the wintering waterfowl population in the Mississippi Flyway.

Our lodge is located in the historic, charming Mississippi River town of New Madrid, Missouri less than 5 miles from where we hunt. New Madrid is approximately 175 miles south of St.Louis, Missouri and 125 miles north of Memphis, Tennessee on I-55. If you want to catch a roll at the world famous Lambert’s Café, Sikeston is only 20 miles north. If flying is preferred, a regional airport is located 40 miles north in Cape Girardeau. Transportation from the airport will be provided upon your request.

You are sure to enjoy New Madrid. Be sure to visit the museum on the riverfront, the river overlook pier, the Higgerson School and Hunter-Dawson Home historic sites. Most of all, don’t miss out on meeting some of the friendliest, most hospitable southern folks you’ve ever met. You’ll soon realize that New Madrid is an unsurpassed waterfowling town. There’s a duckboat in every driveway it seems. Make a point to visit with the locals…..you’ll be amazed at how serious we take our waterfowling in these parts and you’re sure to learn a trick or two from each of them.
